よこたびっちゅうのかみたかとし
横田備中守高松(Yokota Takatoshi, Bicchu-no-Kami)

- 他国からの牢人衆として、武田家に仕えるようになり、足軽大将となった。天文16年(1547)、佐久郡志賀城攻めの小田井原の戦いでの活躍が伝えられるなど、信濃攻略でその勇猛ぶりが知れ渡った。天文19年(1550)、村上義清方の砥石城攻略の先陣を務めたが、村上軍の猛烈な追撃に遭い、殿軍として信玄を逃がすために激戦を展開し、戦死した。
Yokota Takatoshi, Bicchu-no-Kami

- Takatoshi was a ronin from another province that came to serve the Takeda clan as a commander of ashigaru foot soldiers. His bravery in 1547 during the Battle of Otaihara and capture of Shiga Castle in the Saku district, and the conquering of Shinano earned him fame. He was on the front lines during the 1550 attack on Murakami-possessed Toishi Castle, but the Murakami forces fought back and forced a retreat, during which Takatoshi sacrificed himself to let Shingen escape.
